OUR FAQ

Frequently Asked Quetsions About Our Missions

How long will the trip be?

Our trips will be approximately 14 days long. Flights to and from Uganda can range from approximately 20-35 hours which means we'll have approximately 12 days on ground.

Is Uganda safe to visit?

Yes! Just be smart and stick with us. Uganda is generally a peaceful country without civil conflicts or unrest. Major episodes of violence are rare.

What illnesses are common?

Malaria is common so be sure to sleep with a mosquito net which will be provided by the hotel. You may also want to bring an antimalarial medication as recommended by your travel doctor. Typhoid is also common so make sure to only use bottled water provided by us for drinking and brushing your teeth. It's also a good idea to avoid street food to avoid food poisoning.

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Uganda typically ranges from as low as 60°F to as high as 90°F depending on the time of year. Seasons in Uganda are either rainy and cool or dry and hot.

What will we be doing on the trip?

Local ministry activities might include visiting homes, schools, hospitals, and medical outreaches. Activities may also include service, evangelism, prayer, worship, sharing testimonies, giving, and fellowship.

Where will we be staying?

We will be staying in secure hotels with electricity and running water. Be warned that electricity and running water may come and go so be ready to be flexible!

Will I need vaccines to travel?

Yes. A yellow fever vaccine card is required to enter Uganda. It is also recommended that you are up to date on Tdap, polio, hepatitis A, hepatitis B. Some of these vaccines may not be covered by insurance and need to be obtained from a travel medicine clinic. These are not included in trip costs. A typhoid vaccine may also be recommended. COVID-19 vaccines are not currently required to enter the country.

What food will we be eating?

Traditional Ugandan food typically consists of a starch (rice, potato, matooke, cassava, etc.) and a soup (chicken, beef, goat, fish, beans, peas, etc.). Other common dishes include chapati (flat bread), fried chicken or fish and chips (fries), and fresh fruits.
